From Jetsetters to Home Bodies, Henry & Pearl Has Your List Covered

Thanks to Henry & Pearl’s amazing selection of gifts I was able to get quite a few presents purchased already. Not only that, I found gifts I’m so happy to give. Each gift passed my 3-second-test, which is simply that I must love something 100% within the first 3 seconds or I don’t buy it.

I found things for my jet setters, tech buffs, Christmas fanatics, fitness addicts, interior decorators, fashionistas, Milton lovers, hoop girls and hostesses. And, each item is under $50, some way under $50.

I’m including a Sneak Peek below. This is only a sample of the gifts available in the shop.

1. Everyone needs a Yeti drink holder. I use mine at Tennis, in the car, at the beach, literally everywhere. Now, they come in all sizes and price points.

2. If you have a hoop girl in your life, know that we can always use a new pair. If they are like me, they are always losing one – or just always want shiny new ones.

3.  These zip code hats come in 2 styles and many colors. They also have “USA” or “Cambridge” and “Milton” choices. These hats are designed so you’ll buy one for you and a friend.

4. The most fun needlepoint keychains for Home, lake houses, beach houses, play cars and keeps. You won’t be able to get just one!

5.  Key chains for the southern girl.

6.  Trim the tree in needlepoint style.

7.  Giving keys have been my go-to gift this year. They are designed to give and give again. Read the story on the display. So much fun to give.

8.  Pop sockets because no one can live without these gadgets. I’m on the wait list for the attachment for the car that it hangs on.

9.  Cute little hostess gift.

10.  These are essential if you have someone in your list who is on-board the sneaker trend. These pretty little socks keep them comfy while hiding in their booties or sneakers.

11. For the jet setter, beautiful luggage tags to set luggage apart and keep them in adventure mode.

12.  A candle is always a good idea. These assign a customized scent to the local cities. All smell great!

13.  I love gifts that can be used. This soap and lotion dispenser will carry someone and their guests right through the holiday season.

Stop into Henry & Pearl with your list in hand. Great gifts and they’ll even wrap them. Stress-free and fun!

Congratulations, Blessed Trinity

I’m so excited to see how great Blessed Trinity football is doing this post-season. Way to go, Titans!

Findlay Rowe and Serendipity in Roswell have our Game Day and green and camo “30075” hats and Henry & Pearl in Milton has this “BELIEVER” sweatshirt to help you support your Titans.

Patch up Your Fall

I was out doing my Fall Fashion Research this week and these were the fashion Find of the day, for sure.

The latest fashion trend is to put patches on your denim jackets, jeans, camo shirts, utility jackets and overalls. I’ve seen lots of patches around, but this is the first time I’ve seen pins that look like patches. Brilliant! With these pins from Saks, you can patch up anything, change them and switch clothes. At $10/each they can make great stocking stuffers, hostess gifts and Fall fun.

And the Color of the Week is…

ORANGE!  I do love orange and what a great week to wear every orange thing in my closet.  Happy Halloween, Everyone!

{Scarves are a great way to add a pop of color and they are usually affordable and go with many things in a wardrobe.  My favorite places for scarves are Anthropologie, Accessory Concierge, Nordstrom and J. Crew.}

Sunday Best Snakeskin

I couldn’t be happier that animal prints have become the “new neutral”. Finally, my overuse of animal prints can seem “on-trend”.  I particularly am loving snake skin lately.  Funny because just the other day there was a little black snake in my garage and I screamed so loud – and weird – that my entire family came running.  As I so bravely got him out of my garage, the noises coming out of me were noises I’d never heard before.  Snakes can have that effect…  Anyway, still love the print so I fiercely support this new neutral this Fall.

This dress I made and wore for the first time to church and brunch Sunday.  I found lots of great options across all price points if you want to do this look – options below.  There is so much you can do with Snakeskin.  For my purposes, I toned it down with black & white accessories (short necklace & long necklace layers), went big with the earrings cuz… I just can’t help myself…. and a black can’t-go-wrong cardi (similar, but in a longer, more up-to-date style here and here). My shoes are from Aldo a long time ago, but I found this great, more up to date, under-$100, fringy option in a brand that never disappoints that would look great.

Scarves, Plaid, Hiking, Cul-de-sac Parties – Fall in the Burbs (Plus a Crowd-Pleaser of a Banana Pudding Recipe)

It was an absolutely beautiful weekend in North Georgia!  Our first dose of Fall.  As I write this early Monday morning, the weather man says is just dropped into the 30s in Blairsville, GA.  Boot weather is right around the corner, people.  Fashion-wise, it was a great weekend to break out my first SMIJ scarf of the season and some plaid.  Sitting around a firepit watching football and then, loaded down with my Banana Pudding contribution (recipe below), headed off to a neighborhood cul-de-sac party.  Perfect Fall Day with perfect Fall layers.

Old Navy Plaid Tunic (LOVE this pullover and it comes in two colors)

Paige Skinny Jeans (so comfy and flattering (slimming!))

Kendra Scott Necklace (pop of unexpected color)

“Jeans & a Tee” SMIJ Scarf

Favorite Fall polish color on hands and Game Day Red on Toes

And, of course, Tory sandals.

Banana Pudding Recipe that is ALWAYS a hit!

1 Large Cream Cheese

1 Large Cool Whip

1 Large Box Instant Vanilla Pudding

3 Cups Cold Milk

1 Can Sweetened Condensed Milk (Eagle Brand)

1 Box Vanilla Wafers

5-6 Bananas

Mix Cream Cheese & Condensed Milk and set aside. Mix Instant Pudding with 3 Cups Cold Mild, set aside. Combine the cream cheese mixture and the pudding and then add Cool Whip.  Put a layer of pudding in the bottom of a 13X9 inch pan or dish, then a layer of wafers, and a layer of bananas.  Continue layering, ending with pudding.  Crush some wafers on top of pudding.  Take your masterpiece to a cul-de-sac, football or BBQ party!

Lake Blue Ridge

Drapey & Dreamy

Sometimes when September hits the temps climb.  You’re in the mood for Fall, stores are filled with sweaters and it’s just too hot to go there.  I saw a great option for this time of year – the poncho dress.  It combines two of my favorites.  I plan to be wearing ponchos a lot this Fall!  It is drapey, flowy and cool, but you can do it in Fall colors.  I love wearing this dress.  I made this one, but I found a few that you may like, too!

Missoni Crochet Poncho Dress – great colors!

Fringed and Knitted – great colors again.

If you want to spend $1,000+!

Or less than $50… – Love this one!

Goddis Blue Stripes – beautiful drape

Great Fall Colors ($431)

On poncho dresses, pile on the accessories!  Great jewelry options for a poncho dress:  Kendra Scott necklace, earrings, hand bracelet (perfect for this style!), bangle, open ring, ring.  All jewelry I’ve linked to is on sale through midnight on Labor Day, too.

Gold sandals or neutral wedges finish the look.
